Blackout Ends Scorpion show in Shillong

Yesterday, hall of fame German metal band, Scorpion rocked Shillong like a hurricane at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, Polo Ground with above 45 thousands screaming fans. The first song was from the new album, "Humanity Hour I" released this year. The last song was, "When the smoke is going down" from the 1982 album, "Black Out". They will be playing in Delhi on 14 and Bangalore on 16 this month. The opening act was performed by local band, Akhia, which emerged winner at a recent rock concert. Then followed by legendary Shillong band, Great Society, like sweet old wine with leading man Lou Majaw doing all the old trick he have learn through the years very professional with RG Lyndoh behind him. Rumours are that the next band to rock Shillong will be White Lion. Yes, rumours are a way to market and keep people expecting, just like there were rumours that Sepultura and other bands will come to rock Shillong and it did really happen. One of the great hopes of Shillongians are that the Bryan Adams will give this City of Rock a Summer of 69 next 2008. I hope with all the glamorous flavour arriving in Shillong, that this place will continue to shine in all prospects: education, arts, development in every field.
